I dropped with my first at around 32ish weeks, only remember it being odd as the guys on site kept asking if i was sure i'd got so long to go with suddenly being low.with my second i didn't drop at all bump seemed to stay high." but someone pointed out to me that yr placenta starts to deteriorate at 42weeks (hence induction recommended after this time) & now I'm starting to panic that I'll go waaaay past my date & baby will suffer.I have a midwife appointment this afternoon anyway but in the meantime just wondered if anybody else had experienced anything similar???1st us was 21st feb at 13 week scan then 2 weeks later i had another only to be told the 4th feb???the 1st hossy then double checked and agreed the 4th feb WAS more accurate and he arrived on the 1st!!!!
x Well regardless of the dates, if you hit your due date they should give you a scan to check the blood flow to the placenta and the size of the baby then (well my hosptial do) so if at that point you actually 42 2 or so they will be able to tell if the baby is not receiving sufficient nutrients and make a decision based on that. it was only for the fact i went to a different hospital and had another scan due to a slight bleed that i found out!!most people would think this doesnt really matter but i wanted a birth centre waterbirth, so given i hadnt found out i wouldnt have been in labour before the supposed 38 weeks to attend there!!! plus i could have potentially been 42 1/2 weeks givung birth??he weighed 6lb 11 oz so definatly not early as such either!!I'm pretty sure I just have small babies - this time I've been told I'm 27 weeks, but I think I'm closer to 30..because going by their dates I would have had a positive pregnancy test result before I conceived lol I know they say ultrasound is the most accurate way of telling your due date but just wondered if anybody had been given a wrong date at their scan & perhaps given birth earlier?? going from date of my LMP I was 15weeks pregnant but when I had my first ultrasound I was told I was only 11weeks3days.
